First Nature Camp of the Season with Focus Foundation!

As Focus Foundation, we held our first nature camp as part of our Nature-Friendly Leaders Program at Mountrain Outdoor Club in Bolu. During this unique experience that lasted two nights and three days, our participants stayed in tents and integrated with nature. Our aim was to learn life skills in nature, get to know ourselves and our team better, and rediscover our connection with nature.

Throughout the camp, participants had the opportunity to strengthen their bond with nature and get to know their bodies better with the body awareness workshops held under the guidance of our instructor Ece Nur Ateş. Various studies focusing on teamwork, communication with ourselves and others, awareness of our bond with nature and trust also attracted great attention.

In order to provide life skills in nature, we organized a campfire workshop led by our graduates Kerem Yurtseven, Emre Yiğit Ay and our facilitator Sefa Alkan. This event presented our participants with the beauties of creating a traditional bond and solidarity in the heart of nature.

One of the unforgettable moments of the camp was the search and rescue operation organized to strengthen team spirit and teamwork. Before this operation, participants were given map reading and first aid training, and they gained both orientation in nature and emergency response skills. Then, the importance of teamwork was reinforced once again with a challenging and exciting bridge building activity.

In the evenings, we listened to the sounds of nature with night walks in the forest in complete darkness and watched the stars in a fascinating atmosphere. One of the fascinating moments of the camp was our graduate Kerem Yurtseven telling the story of the universe accompanied by the stars in the sky.

On the last day, there were moments of solidarity and fun among the participants with team games such as target shooting and archery. At the end of our camp, we returned to city life, taking in the peace of nature.
